Joy? As in the movie Joy? That movie needs to sit down and shut up. The direction and writing of Joy needs to shut up. Jennifer Lawrence is frazzled but determined and does her absolute best with a part she is probably miscast in, but her performance is drowned out by confused, meandering, showy directing by David O. Russell. This is a movie that just does not stop. Watching Joy is like listening to tourists argue on the bus while you're trying to go to work. It's like watching morning radio DJs do acrobatics. Whatever it's like, it certainly wasn't like something worth liking.
