RIP Christopher Lee

This is not only coming way too late but it also goes without saying, Christopher Lee, who passed away this week at the age of 93 will be fondly remembered and missed.

Lee was a cinematic titan, equally able to elevate class like Lord of the Rings or trash like Taste the Blood of Dracula. The creaky sets and silly plots of Hammer Horror benefited hugely from the gravitas Lee brought to his portrayal of Dracula, which was always present even when his Dracula films crawled on to the point where Lee is barely in them and only in them out of obligation. With 70 years of film work on the reel, service in the SAS during WW2 and an honest to goodness heavy metal Christmas album under his belt, Christopher Lee was a real-life hero and inspiration.
